In August 2024, I was hired as a full-time sports reporter for The Dickinson Press, which is the premier newspaper in Southwest North Dakota. In this position, I covered 11 different high schools across different sports, along with producing multimedia content for social media, including my own hockey show called The Breakaway.

Big Ten Hockey Insider

In early February 2024, I joined College Hockey News as a Big Ten Hockey insider and got the chance to cover the NCAA Tournament Maryland Heights Regional. I wrote weekly feature content on players in the Big Ten Hockey conference along with game previews for the 2024 Big Ten Tournament. Since I joined, I have covered three regional tournaments providing on-site coverage.

Washington Capitals Beat Reporter

Following my graduation at Penn State, I was offered a freelance opportunity to cover the Washington Capitals. I attended Capitals' practices and got the chance to tell the stories of high profile athletes such as Alex Ovechkin. I wrote as many as two to three stories per day for each practice. I also got the chance to cover Washington's development camp, rookie camp and training camp.

I covered Penn State Men's Hockey for three seasons for various outlets. During my senior year, I covered the team for Penn State Rivals. I wrote weekly content ranging from game recaps, to feature stories and analysis pieces.

Sports Anchor and News Reporter

The Centre County Report is a professional, student-run weekly TV newscast that covers the latest news surrounding Penn State and Centre County. Every week, I was assigned to report on a different news story or sporting event. I learned how to talk on-air in a live setting and edit video.

CommRadio was the jack-of-all-trades. This was the start of my sports journalism career. I called different Penn State sports, such as hockey, lacrosse, basketball and softball; I wrote for the website, created podcasts and much more. I also expanded my horizons by joining the news department and eventually became a producer.

Penn State Sports Night gave me an opportunity to talk about my favorite sports on-air. I became more comfortable with each time I did. I learned how to operate a camera and improved my editing skills. During my senior year I was named the Penn State Baseball beat reporter.
